Livin' La Vida Lockdown
How to stay fit while working at home, sitting on uncomfortable furniture, having your mind go in panic mode, feeling unprepared, worried and afraid?
Do I only describe myself here or it resonates with you?
Or do you still have to go outside and work for all of us, baking bread, delivering parcels, patrolling the streets, keeping our hospitals clean and the sick cared for?
How do you practice self-care?
I am personally finding that this is a very difficult time for me and my way to combat the unknown is as usual - I get myself busy.
Therefore, the full day of yoga and meditation classes is something that will leave me pleasantly exhausted and ready for my new evening Netflix addiction (ATM completely immersed in amazing series "How to get away with murder?")
Not very yogic title or subject, but hey, I am just a “normal” human being.
Teaching from 9 am to 5.30 pm, with private classes before and after soon could be a scene of a suspense thriller.
Nevertheless, I created this super-rich online yoga and meditation offer for April. I am also in the process of creating a newsletter and just got in the world of Zoom and Acuity Scheduling and Squarespace. This is unknown territory for me. As much as it is exciting, it is scary and embarrassing asking questions during webinars, where it seems I am the oldest one and the least familiar with the technological vocabulary: embedded scheduler, SEO, URL slugs…
I started my journalistic career on Olympia type-writer. I still have 72 pens carrying with me, wherever I go. Just in case one quits on me.
I like sitting next to the people and ask questions and listen and look in their eyes.
Evolve, Sasha, evolve. Old habits die hard, but hello give away your pens finally. 71 to go.
And be kind to yourself.
This is a lot.
My family is in Croatia.
I am here.
I talked briefly to my friend Moises in Tijuana today as he was driving to UCSD to work on finding a cure. His wife’s family is in Spain.
I haven’t talked to my friend Mona today, who lives just 25 minutes walk away from me, although it is her birthday today and usually we would be celebrating in a local pub.
I didn’t go for a run with my friend Mary who is around the corner and who runs on the opposite side of the road so we keep the distance and still support each other in an attempt to stay fit, thanks to instruction by our friend Fola.
Fola moved into the new flat and we were not able to help her or even celebrate with her.
And the story of the lockdown disadvantages goes on and on.
Yet we got this opportunity to invest in ourselves and others.
I am announcing a month of my full attention to our well-being, mental and physical, emotional and spiritual.
I am here for you.
I really care.
Tell me more about you, how you are today, how were you yesterday, what your thoughts about tomorrow are.
If you have any specific questions regarding yoga and meditation, I could do more than simply listen and acknowledge you.
I can talk (write) for hours about it…
Test me.
Ask me.
